Terms of Use
Plain terms for a free app. Read them once; they are short.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of the Halt iOS application and the website at minimalistphone.app, both published by Easify Studios. By downloading or using the app you accept them. If you do not, do not use the app.
Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement . Where those terms and these ones conflict, Apple's terms govern the licence itself.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Halt on Apple-branded devices you own or control, in accordance with the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, redistribute, sell, reverse-engineer or attempt to derive the source code of the app, except to the extent that restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
3. What Halt is, and what it is not
Halt is a productivity tool that changes your phone's interface, applies screen time limits and introduces deliberate friction before selected apps open. It works through Apple's Screen Time APIs.
It is not a security product and it is not a parental-control guarantee. Limits and blocks introduced by Halt can be changed, overridden or removed by anyone with access to the device and its passcode. Halt is designed to make impulsive use deliberate, not to make it impossible.
It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, including compulsive technology use. Nothing in the app or on this website is medical or psychological advice. Content published in Field notes is general information; it summarises published research but is not a substitute for professional advice.
4. Availability
The app depends on Apple's operating system features. Apple may change or withdraw those features, and functionality may change or stop working as a result. We may add, change or discontinue features, and we may stop distributing the app, at any time.
5. Price
Halt is currently free on the App Store. If paid features are introduced, the price and terms will be shown before purchase, and all purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
6. Your responsibilities
- Do not use Halt to restrict a device belonging to someone else without their knowledge and consent.
- Do not rely on Halt for anything safety-critical, or in a way that could prevent you from making emergency calls. Calls, messages and navigation remain available in every mode, including Deep Freeze.
- Comply with applicable law when using the app.
7. Intellectual property
The app, this website, the Halt name and the design of both belong to Easify Studios. Apple, iPhone, iPad, macOS, App Store and Screen Time are trademarks of Apple Inc. Halt is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. Any other product names mentioned belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The app and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular reduction in your screen time.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profit or opportunity, arising out of your use of the app or website. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict of law rules, and the courts of Istanbul have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings there.
